Gaston Karel Mathilde Burssens (18 February 1896 – 29 January 1965) was a Belgian writer writing in Dutch. He studied in Flanders at the University of Ghent, at which, during World War I, the Germans introduced classes given in Dutch language.

He is usually classified as an expressionist literature. He died age 68 in Antwerpen en was buried at the Schoonselhof cemetery. He was a member of the "Activists" and studied at the University of Ghent. He also published previously unpublished work by avant-garde poet and contemporary Paul Van Ostaijen after the latter's death.

Postuum

In maart 2002 verscheen een geheel aan Burssens gewijd nummer van Boelvaar poef, het tijdschrift van het Louis Paul Boongenootschap, inclusief een editie van Burssens' briefwisseling met schrijver Louis Paul Boon.
