"Cultural law" is a concept first put forward by Paul Cliteur in Natuurrecht, Cultuurrecht, Conservatisme (2005, "Natural law, Cultural law, Conservatism").

It does not derive its validity, like natural law, from nature, but from a specific legal culture. Such cultural law would then consist of the legal principles as they have developed gradually and historically.
