Juvenalian satire is one of two types of formal satire (the other being Horatian satire) characterized primarily by contempt and invective. It is named after the Roman poet Juvenal who employed this style in his satires.
One famous example of this kind of satire is Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal.
