Camden Town is an inner-city district within the London Borough of Camden, situated in the northern part of London, England. It is well-known for its markets, liberal attitude and associations with popular culture. Since the 1960s, The Roundhouse theatre and music venue has been a centre of alternative culture, and later associated with punk and Goth subcultures. The area is identified in the London Plan as one of 35 major centres in Greater London.
