Suiseki is the Japanese art of stone appreciation and may also refer to the objects of the appreciation—the stones. Suiseki take many forms. Some resemble human figures, animal figures, or landscape forms, and some are purely abstract. Suiseki grew from the Chinese scholar's rocks of China.
