Forniphilia is a sub-set of bondage and sexual objectification in which a person's body is incorporated into a chair, table, cabinet or other piece of furniture.
Allen Jones' sculptures Hat Stand and Table Sculpture, made in 1969, which show semi-naked women in the roles of furniture, are clear examples of the depiction of the fantasy of sexual objectification.
Examples
- François-Rupert Carabin, in the illustrated catalog for the 1893 Salon des Beaux-Arts, contributed two drawings of sculptures of women as part of chairs. (depicted in Idols of Perversity)
- The hentai anime Cool Devices features women used as furniture in the underground sado-masochist world of the first episode.
- The cult horror-exploitation film Blood Sucking Freaks (1976) features several scenes with nude slave girls used as human chairs, tables, and even a dart board.
