Come as your Madness was a party hosted by Renate Druks and Paul Mathiesen.

The couple were known for their outrageous parties. They threw a "come as your madness" masquerade ball... Burning incense wafted through the house, which was bathed in candlelight. Bare rooms became a forest, with branches and Mexican masks hung from the walls. The costumed guests intermingling made it all the more surreal.
[Anais] Nin wore a daring, sexy feline leotard, leopard fur earrings glued on her nipples, a leopard fur belt, and a jungle scene painted on her back, two-inch eyelashes, and hair dusted with gold powder. Her crowning glory was a birdcage surrounding her head like a fishbowl. Within this were rolls of paper on which she had lines from her books, calling them the "ticker tape of the unconcious."
