Was will das Weib? (English: What does a woman want?) is a dictum by Sigmund Freud.

A more extensive variant is "The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is "What does a woman want?""

It is from a letter from Freud to Marie Bonaparte, as quoted in Sigmund Freud: Life and Work (1955) by Ernest Jones, Vol. 2, Pt. 3, Ch. 16.
