"We blew it" is a dictum first recorded in Tom Wolfe’s book The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (1968) and attributed to Ken Kesey.

It was repeated by Peter Fonda’s character “Captain America” in the 1969 film Easy Rider.

It refers to the ideals of the hippie revolution.
