The term vidiot was first used by Ken Nordine in a sketch titled The Vidiot, on his 1957 album Word Jazz. The sketch is of a patient in a therapists office, describing his addiction to TV, and saying he has become a vidiot.
Vidiot was also a children's television game show broadcast from 1992 to 1995 on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
