An unauthorized biography is a biography about a person that was not approved or otherwise authorized by the subject of the biography. Those who write unauthorized biographies are sometimes subject to defamation lawsuits. An example of an unauthorized biography is The Second Coming of Steve Jobs. The author did not have the permission of Steve Jobs to publish the book, and has many of his own personal opinions in the book.
