Ulrike Marie Meinhof (7 October 19349 May 1976) was one of the first leaders of the German organization Red Army Faction, also commonly known as the Baader-Meinhof group.

Born in Oldenburg, Meinhof started her career as a journalist for the leftist magazine Konkret. On 14 May 1970 she was involved in the liberation of Andreas Baader and took up violent terrorist activities.

She was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 8 years imprisonment in 1976.

On 9 May 1976 she was found hanging in her cell in the Stammheim Prison in Stuttgart. She is buried at Heilig-Kreuz-Kirchhof, Mariëndorf, Berlin.
