Truth Stranger Than Fiction. Father Henson's Story of His Own Life (1858) is an autobiography by Josiah Henson (1789-1883), a Maryland-born slave. Henson was supposedly the real-life Uncle Tom in Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
