Traité des objets musicaux (Eng: Treatise on Musical Objects) is a book-length essay written by the French composer and theorist Pierre Schaeffer and first published in 1966 by French publisher Le Seuil.

It features the first instance of the term acousmatique. He has devoted much effort to a classification of sound objects.
