Sav Remzi, most notably known for having created Nuphonic Records, the Blue Note Club and London Xpress in the 90's, launched his baby label Tirk Records in 1994.

Having discovered several hit bands since, most notably New Young Pony Club and Fujiya & Miyagi, Tirk Records now stands as one of the most prominent and influential independent labels in the UK.

Musically, the label is hailed for it's high quality and diverse output, releasing broad ranging sounds from the Kraut Rock of Fujiya & Miyagi, to the amazing Disco Re-Edits from the edit legend Greg Wilson, then across the waters to the SoCal sounds of Sorcerer and the New York Disco bump of Drrtyhaze. Classic signings include solo works from the likes of Chaz Jankel (Ian Dury's Blockheads) and Martin Rushent (producer of Human League, The Buzzcocks, The Stranglers, Altered Images, Generation X, Hazel O'Connor and Shirley Bassey in the 80's). The radical sounds of Syclops is from the maveric production genius Maurice Fulton and Sugardaddy provides for the smoothest of dance floor house grooves.

In 2007 a merger with new independent giant MRC provided Tirk with a major infrastructure to sign new acts, produce, market and exploit it's music to the max. The independent approach of Tirk under Sav's A&R direction, combined with a major infrastructure, has created a main player in the British independent music scene.
