Public domain photographs or illustrations. The acronym "PD" stands for "Public Domain".
By public domain we mean the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works rules, 70 years post mortem auctoris. Someone who died in 1938 becomes public domain in 2009.
