The Story of I (1997) is a film by Jo Anne Kaplan.
The film consists of a woman sitting in a bath reading out loud George Bataille’s Story of the Eye, interspersed with footage and film stills from various sources, many from erotic history.
The translation is an improvisation by Kaplan, the music by Annabelle Pangborn and the cinematography by Margaret Jailler.
