La Marquise de Sade is a French language novel by by Rachilde, published in 1887 by Mercure de France. It is a psychological study of 'femme fatale' Mary Barbe and her burgeoning sadism.
La Marquise de Sade is also the title of a 1992 telefilm [1] by Ingmar Bergman.
