The Invisible College of the Rose Cross Fraternity is an illustration from the Speculum Sophicum Rhodostauroticum (1618) by Teophilus Schweighardt Constantiens.

Die Darstellung entstand um 1604 und wurde im Speculum sophicum Rhodostauroticum durch Theophilus Schweighart veröffentlicht. Im Mittelpunkt des Bildes steht ein sich auf Rädern bewegendes, festungsähnliches Gebäude. Man betrachtet das Bild aus dem »OCCIDENS«, also vom Westen aus. Einen Hinweis darauf liefert uns die untere Bildbeschriftung (hier im Bild nur schlecht erkennbar). Der Eingang zu diesem Gebäude, der sich dem Betrachter direkt offenbart, ist durch einen Schriftzug gekennzeichnet. Über dem Torbogen liest man »VENITE DIGNI« (»KOMMEN SIE HER, WÜRDIGE«). Zur Rechten des Torbogens erkennt man ein Kreuz und zur Linken eine Rose. Direkt unter dem Eingang liest man das über zwei Linien verteilte Wort »MOVEAMVR« (»LASST UNS BEWEGT WERDEN«). Über dem Torbogen befinden sich zwei Fenster, worüber sich der Schriftzug »IESVS NOBIS OMNIA« (»JESUS [IST] ALLES FÜR UNS«) entlangzieht. Es wird also deutlich, dass es sich neben all den vielen weiteren symbolischen Darstellungen um eine rosenkreuzerische Darstellung handeln könnte. Kreuz und Rose sind deutlich auszumachen, jedoch nicht, wie in heutiger Form, vereint dargestellt.

The depiction was created around 1604 and published in the Speculum sophicum Rhodostauroticum by Theophilus Schweighart. In the centre of the picture is a fortress-like building moving on wheels. The picture is viewed from the "OCCIDENS", i.e. from the west. A clue to this is provided by the caption at the bottom of the picture (only barely visible here in the picture). The entrance to this building, which reveals itself directly to the viewer, is marked by a lettering. Above the archway one reads "VENITE DIGNI" ("COME HERE, WORTHY ONES"). To the right of the archway is a cross and to the left a rose. Directly below the entrance one reads the word "MOVEAMVR" ("LET US MOVE") spread over two lines. Above the archway are two windows with the words "IESVS NOBIS OMNIA" ("JESUS [IS] ALL FOR US") running along them. It is thus clear that, among all the many other symbolic representations, this could be a Rosicrucian representation. The cross and the rose are clearly visible, but not united as in today's form.
