The Ten Commandments (alternatively called the Decalogue) are a list of religious and moral imperatives which are said to have been spoken by God to Moses on Mount Sinai or Mount Horeb and engraved on two stone tablets. There are two very different lists, sometimes differentiated as the Ethical Decalogue and the Ritual Decalogue.
