The Spinners are a Detroit, Michigan-based soul vocal group (active under that name since 1961), and most popular during the 1970s. The band is also listed occasionally as The Motown Spinners, or (after they left the Motown label) The Detroit Spinners. These were their monikers in the UK to avoid confusion with a British group also called The Spinners. Additionally, even though many people refer to the group as The Spinners, on most of their album releases the band is solely credited under the one word name Spinners.
