Le Midi[1] (c. 1760, English: noon) is an engraving by Emmanuel Jean Népomucène De Ghendt (1738?-1815), after a gouache by Pierre Antoine Baudouin (1723-1769). It is part of a "times of the day" series. It is reproduced in Edward Fuchs's L'Élément Érotique dans la Caricature. It is also used on the cover of Forbidden Texts: Erotic Literature and its Readers in Eighteenth-Century France by Jean Marie Goulemot. The print depicts a "young girl who has been consumed by the erotic literature lying at her feet and is presumably masturbating while being gazed at by a statue of a male bust." (Goulemot)
