Rudy Van Gelder (born November 2, 1924 in Jersey City, New Jersey) is a recording engineer specialising in jazz.

Van Gelder led several hundred jazz sessions, including recordings trumpeter Miles Davis, pianist Thelonious Monk, saxophonists Wayne Shorter and John Coltrane, and many others. He worked with many record companies, but is most closely associated with Blue Note Records.
