Published in Paris by the Presses universitaires de France, the Revue philosophique de la France et de l'étranger is a journal founded by Théodule-Armand Ribot in 1876. The Revue philosophique was continued by Lucien Lévy-Bruhl, Emile Bréhier, Paul Masson-Oursel and Pierre-Maxime Schuhl. Originally monthly, it then became fortnightly (30 years) and afterwards quarterly. It is currently edited by Yvon Brès and Dominique Merllié.
By fanning out very openly its collaborations, the Revue philosophique participated in the foundation of modern psychology in France. Each issue offers, in addition to the research articles selected by the editors, a critical collation of philosophical works published recently.
