Resist Music is the replacement company for React Music Limited, established in June 2004. 4am/Flute, part of the Beechwood Music group owed React in excess of £1,000,000 in distributed income, and was forced into voluntary administration in June 2004. Following the closure, React was unable to collect any monies due or trade out of such debts. As a result, it was forced into voluntary administration on 16 July 2004.

React's James Horrocks and Melissa Kemp set up Resist Music in its place. It has since acquired the staff, rights, and catalogue of React.

Notable serial releases

  • React Test - This was a series of low priced sampler CDs
  • Reactivate - Typically a double release with 1 mixed CD and 2 disc unmixed version
  • Cafe del Mar - Their most successful of their serial releases (see chill-out music)
  • Bonkers series - The best-selling hardcore compilation series of all time
