Pierre Schoendoerffer (Template:Lang-fr; born 5 May 1928 in Chamalières, Puy-de-Dôme, died 14 March 2012 in Clamart, Hauts-de-Seine) was a French film director, a screenwriter, a writer, a war reporter, a war cameraman, a renowned First Indochina War veteran, a cinema academician and since 2001 the President of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
