Phallic bird creature ridden by a putto[1][2][3] is the informal title to a design by French artist Eugène le Poitevin depicting a blindfolded putto riding a phallic bird creature. The putto has an erection and the phallus also sports an erection. Part of the so-called diableries érotiques, it can be found in a color version on p.69 of the book Erotic Art of the Masters the 18th, 19th, 20th Centuries Art & Artists (scanned from the collection of Nordmann) and in a black and white version in the Erotic Images and Alphabets book.
Dutch art dealer Onno van Seggelen, who sold the original watercolour in the 2000s describes it as follows: "A very rare watercolour attributed to Le Poitevin, inspirator of Felicien Rops. This is the original design for the lithograph by Le Poitevin published slightly later. Winged phallus with putto and winged genitals, dimensions : 33,2 x 25,0 cm, Paper watermarked "Arches France", it shows a large winged Phallus ridden by a Putto chasing winged male and female genitals."[4]
