People (Personnes) is an art installation by Christian Boltanski for Monumenta 2010.

It is an installation consisting of objects and sounds, 69 rectangular spaces are lined up in three rows along the nave of the Grand Palais in Paris; each of these spaces is covered with clothes lying flat on the floor, face down. In the center of the nave is a mountain of clothing; at the top of the mountain, a grappling crane picks up some of the clothing, lifts it into the air, and releases it. Throughout the space, loudspeakers broadcast the recording of heartbeats, evoking also the sound of trains on their tracks.
