Le Docteur Péan enseignant à l'Hôpital Saint-Louis sa découverte du pincement des vaisseaux ou Avant l'opération[1] (1887, Péan and his surgery class before operation) is a painting by Henri Gervex, a modernized paraphrase, as it were, of Rembrandt's The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp.
