Oscar van den Boogaard (Harderwijk, the Netherlands, 1964) is a Dutch writer. He grew up in the former Dutch colony of Surinam and in the Netherlands. After studying French and Law, he embarked on a career as lawyer. On his 25th birthday he suddenly became a writer. He founded Mot & van den Boogaard Gallery for Contemporary Art in Brussels. The photo of the writers back is part of the collection of the Guggenheim museum in New York. He lives with his partner Steven Van Watermeulen in Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium.
