Nurse with Wound is a band formed in 1978. Its only permanent member is English composer Steven Stapleton.

Its first two albums, Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella (1979) and To the Quiet Men from a Tiny Girl (1980) feature a list of 291 musicians and musical ensembles deemed essential in the realm of pre-1980 experimental music.

Simple Headphone Mind (1997), an album made in collaboration with Stereolab, is among their more accessible works.
