Muzak Holdings LLC is a company based in metro Fort Mill, South Carolina, United States, just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 1934, Muzak Holdings is best known for distribution of background music to retail stores and other companies.

The word "Muzak" has always been a registered trademark of Muzak LLC although it so dominated the market for so many years that the term is often erroneously used (in its lower case spelling) as a generic term for all background music.

In 1981 Westinghouse bought the company and ran it until selling it to the Fields Company of Chicago--publishers of the Chicago Sun-Times--on September 8, 1986.
