Some of the French Royal Family have included moral crusaders.

They are reputed to have destroyed no less than three versions of the Leda and the Swan motif. One by Leonardo, one by Michelangelo and one by Correggio.

Louis d'Orléans, Duke of Orléans attacked both Correggio's Leda and Jupiter and Io with a knife.
