Maria Martins (1894-1973) was a Brazilian surealist sculptrice and art collector. She was taught by Jacques Lipchitz. She acquired Piet Mondrian's Broadway Boogie Woogie, which she donated to the Museum of Modern Art in New Yuork. She began a relationship with [Marcel] Duchamp in 1946 and was the model for Given. Her association with André Breton sparked her appreciation of primitive art.
