Love Affair; Or The Case of the Missing Switchboard Operator (Ljubavni slucaj ili tragedija sluzbenice P.T.T. in Serbian) is a film made in 1967 in Yugoslavia. Directed by Dušan Makavejev.

Plot

A sexologist in his office talks about the history of sex.

Isabella, a Hungarian switchboard operator, meets and falls in love with a Sanjak muslim man named Ahmed, who soon moves into her apartment and has a bathtub installed. Seemingly at the same time, the police are investigating the death of a young woman by drowning. Ahmed goes away on business for a month. During his absence, Isabella reluctantly hooks up with a postman. When Ahmed returns, he finds Isabella different. He gets very drunk, and when Isabella chases him, he threatens to commit suicide by jumping into a well. However, Ahmed ends up accidentally pushing Isabella in, killing her. The film concludes with a scene of the living Ahmed and Isabella walking down a staircase.
