Below is a list of television shows that have been made up in real television shows or other media. Characters who work in television are interesting to viewers. An early example of the show within a show format was The Jack Benny Program which had been popular on radio and took the same format to the new medium of television.

- Queen of Jordan - Angie Jordan’s reality show on Bravo
- Right On - a talk show focusing on African-American issues
- Super Computer - a fictional NBC drama which ran from 1975-1975. It is mentioned almost exclusively by the NBC Pages, and apparently spun off at least four other more successful NBC series.

- Girly Cow - Parody of SpongeBob SquarePants. (Also seen on iCarly).
- Gender Defenders - A new reality game show that Logan's dad comes up with. Zoey and her friends are invited to compete on the first episode of the show and when all the challenges are finished and the girls win. The show is aired on TV and the kids at PCA get to see them on the show. Probably a parody of Battle of the Sexes.
- Point of View - A show that talks about how bad it is to let a teenager get away with talking to a little boy in an angry tone referring to the angry voicemail Logan left for Dustin because Logan was being impatient for Dustin to bring him what he asked for. Probably a parody of The View.
- Friday Night Live - A show where Michael & Chase get sued by after doing a bowling pin sketch on their own internet show which Friday Night Live did before on their show but later the lawsuit gets dropped. Parody of Saturday Night Live.
