Lionizing is a story by Poe, first published in May 1835 in the Southern Literary Messenger and anthologized in Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque. It was translated into French by Baudelaire as Lionnerie. It is the story of an unnamed narrator who is unsure of his own name.
From the first paragraph:
- "I am, that is to say I was, a great man, but I am neither the author of Junius nor the man in the mask, for my name, I believe, is Robert Jones, and I was born somewhere in the city of Fum-Fudge."
