Lincoln Chase was an American composer and performer, best-known for writing "Jim Dandy" and "Jim Dandy Got Married" for Lavern Baker. He was married to Shirley Ellis and she performed the novelty song "The Nitty Gritty," "The Name Game," and "The Clapping Song."
