"Permis De Vivre Valable Un An" (English: Permit to live valid one year) is a faux governmental form giving its holder a right to live for one year. The form was published as part of the Green Box and later appeared in the Encyclopaedia Da Costa.

Excerpt:

It was perhaps the most insolent entry in the Da Costa encyclopédique. The document requested vital statistics from the bearer in order to enforce its legal fiat; the penalty for failing to keep the document "in order" was death.
