Les Origines[1] (1883, The Origins) is a portfolio of eight prints by Odilon Redon, representing evolution before man. The album was printed by Lemercier et Cie.
Redon was inspired by Armand Clavaud, who Redon knew.
The individual prints were orginally untitled. In a letter to André Mellerio wrote why: "le titre était déjà très lourd" (the title itself being already very heavy".
