In 1891, Pierre Louÿs helped found a short-lived literary review, La Conque, where he proceeded to publish Astarte - an early collection of erotic verse.
La Conque's Symbolist leanings were alluded to by Jorge Luis Borges in his story Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote.
