Rue des Moulins: The Medical Inspection[1] (French: La Visite médicale) is a painting by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, painted ca 1894. It is in the collection of the National Gallery of Art.

"Dès 1796, Napoléon fait établir le registre de la prostitution parisienne. En 1802,la visite médicale est rendue obligatoire pour les prostituées. En 1839, une loi précise que la prostitution ne peut s’exercer qu’en maison close ou maison de tolérance."[2]
