L'Observateur Anglais (1777- 78), later reworked as L'Espion Anglais (1779) is a collection of writings hailing from the underground newspaper with the same title ascribed to Mathieu-François Pidansat de Mairobert. Its full title reads L'Espion anglois, ou correspondance secrete entre milord All'eye et milord Alle'ar.

The newspaper was a mixture of sexual and political gossip.
