José Antonio Fajardo (October 18th, 1919–December 11th, 2001) Born in Pinal del Rio, Cuba, Fajardo was a charanga bandleader and flautist that played the traditional five-keyed wooden flute. After performing with the band of Antonio María Romeu, he formed his own charanga band in 1949.
