"I Wonder If I Take You Home" is a song recorded in 1984 and released as a single in 1985 by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam with Full Force. Never originally released on Personal Records, the then-obscure demo was discovered in a tape "discard bin" at Personal Records by producer/writer/artist Kenny Beck (KRS One Success is the Word and Octavia 2 The Limit), while searching for possible material to include in his debut album on the label. He was so impressed with the song that he created a compilation album to release the song on and it was licensed by Personal Records owners Don Oriolo and Jurgen Korduletsch to CBS Records for the Beck created Break-dancing album CBS/Suzy Q released in Europe, and released as a single in the United States on Columbia Records. After the song received heavy play from club DJs who had imported the album. "I Wonder If I Take You Home" reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for one week in June 1985; it peaked at #6 on the R&B chart; and it reached #34 on the Hot 100. It also charted at #12 on the UK Singles Chart. The single was certified as gold in the U.S. by the RIAA. Since its release the song has become regarded as a mid eighties dance classic, and one of Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam's signature and most recognizable songs.

Its chorus has been interpolated in The Black Eyed Peas 2005 hit song, "Don't Phunk With My Heart", Fabolous's song with Lil' Mo entitled "Take You Home" & in the Angie Martinez single "Take You Home" featuring Kelis. The song has also been sampled by Kylie Minogue (in her song "Secret (Take You Home)"), Pitbull (in his song "I Wonder", featuring Oobie), R&B singer Paula Campbell in her single "Take You Home," which garnered much airplay on urban radio-stations around the Baltimore-DC area, and in the Junior Mafia featuring Aaliyah single, "I Need You Tonight".
