La Vraie Histoire comique de Francion (English: Histoire comique de Francion) is a novel by Charles Sorel. Sorel tried to destroy the vogue of the pastoral romance by writing this novel. The first edition in seven books was in 1623; second edition in twelve books in 1633.

The episodical adventures of Francion found many readers, who nevertheless reserved their admiration for Honoré d'Urfé's Astrée, which it was intended to ridicule.

It is a picaresque inspired story of the ruses and amorous dealings of a young gentleman.

Il raconte les aventures amusantes de Francion, gentilhomme français à la recherche du grand amour. Elles permettent à Sorel de faire une satire assez vive de la société de son temps.
