Gabrielle Wittkop-Ménardeau, known as Gabrielle Wittkop, was a French writer born in Nantes on May 27 1920 and died December 22 2002 in Frankfurt. With titles such as Le Nécrophile, she is the author of a disturbing corpus, macabre, and more often than not outside of everything normal. Her style was rich and remarkable, and her interests make here a dignified follower of the tradition of Sade, Villiers de L'Isle Adam, Lautréamont, Edgar Poe, but also of Marcel Schwob.
