Television in France was introduced in 1931, making the country one of the first countries in the world to broadcast television programmes. IT ws called RTF and then ORTF.
The following is a list of television services that operate, or have once operated, in France.

- TF1 (Télévision Française 1) - Privatised during 1987. Formerly RTF (Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française) and ORTF (Office de Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française).
- France 2 - State owned. Formerly La Deuxième Chaîne and A2 (Antenne 2).
- France 3 - State owned. Formerly Couleur 3 and FR3 (France Régions 3)
