Filippo Scòzzari (Bologna, 1946), known in his first comic at Mondari's Il Mago under the pseudonym Winslow Leech is an Italian fumetti author and figure of the Italian underground. He is, or has been involved in, Re Nudo and Il Mago, Radio Alice of Bologna, Cannibale, Il Male, Frigidaire, Blue, Panorama, TV Sorrisi e Canzoni and Glamour International.

Career

From 1976 he works in the most important comics magazines of Italy. In 1979 he collaborates with the famous satirical Italian weekly magazine IL MALE, and in subsequent years he worked in the making and the achievement of several comics magazines, like CANNIBALE, FRIGIDAIRE, FRI’ZZER, TEMPI SUPPLEMENTARI and Il Lunedì della Repubblica, all considered a starting point for the new mass cultures.

In the same years he appeared with his work in all the most relevant magazines of the last two decades, from Re Nudo to Linus, from Vogue to Spaceships Today, from Panorama to ALTERALTER.

His comics have been published in France, Brazil and Greece.

Most of his work in the comics field has been collected in eight books published in Italy by Primo Carnera Editore and Coniglio Editore, in France by Albin Michael, in Brazil by Conrad Editora.

He has written five novels, an anthology of his best “New P-Porno” tales and a theatrical work, “Heart in Slices ”. On several occasions he held public readings of his poetry.

He held several exhibitions in Italy: in Rimini, in Montecchio Emilia, in Rome, in Reggio Emilia, in Milan, in Turin, in Athens and in Bologna.

Among his comic books are a graphic novel based on Raymond Chandler's screenplay The Blue Dahlia (La Dalia Azzurra, 1981), a collection of stories from his underground period (Doctor Jack, 1982), a collection of his early science fiction short stories (Mud and Oxygen, 1992) and various collections of his work published in FRIGIDAIRE magazine (Women, 1987, Sister Big Tooth & others Battles, 1992).

He lives in Verucchio, Rimini, with 3 sons, 2 wives, some cats and 10 oaks. “Sons, cats and trees, all dreams from the scratch… Wifey 1 and Wifey 2? Lovely bitches with a sssmelling Snatch”.

He wears a non-brazilian aortic valve, two bypass and a semi bald head, still black in some areas and heavy in thoughts.

His red soul belongs to the Bologna F.C., 1909, since August 30th, 1946: to F.S. God is a Red and Blue Orchestra.
