- The act of building or putting up or together of something; construction.
- Anything erected or built.
- The physiological process by which a penis become erect by being engorged with blood.
- A penis that has become rigid.
The erection of the penis, clitoris or a nipple is its enlarged and firm state. It depends on a complex interaction of psychological, neural, vascular and endocrine factors. The term is also applied to the process that leads to this state.
From Latin erigere which means to erect or raise.
